Guide to Uniform Plates
Click Here for Finding AidThe Library’s collection of Uniform Plates includes over two hundred and fifty artistic renderings of military uniforms of the period between about 1750 and 1800. Included are American Patriot, British, and American Loyalist uniforms, with a few examples from other countries which were involved to some extent in the American Revolution. The plates reflect careful scholarship by the artists, who relied on preserved period relics and historic narrative descriptions to provide realistic illustrations.
